Enviva Epes
The Epes plant, located in Sumter County, is Enviva’s newest wood pellet production plant and the first plant built by Enviva in Alabama. The Epes plant began production in September 2025 and employs over 100 full-time employees. It is the world’s highest production-capacity wood pellet plant.
